Dear STOM,
I'm a bit puzzled. The cover photo used on this Wentz edition is the same as the 1955 production on Brilliant Classics CDs.
Ironically all the singers seem to be the same on the 2002 edition according to Arkiv website but a different picture. Could the confusion be that the 1955 edition went through some digitizing and re-released with a new photo?
Che pasa por favor?

P.S. I am dubious about mentioning this, but I own a WDR Archive CD set of Clemenza with Keilberth, Gedda, et. al.
If you are interested in using it here instruct me how to send it (not Rapidshare, and I'll do it.)

The post is two years ago!
See links below, but forget if cover is the same or not. In the site of Brilliant Classics I check the tracks, cast and all is right. In Operaclass website I check data release, cast, and all is ok too.
Sorry, but I did not understand your doubt.

Hello Herman,
I cannot find my source as to why I believed the Wentz Clemenza di Tito was from 1955. You are correct, all say 2002. I am mistaken.
As for my statement of dubiousness: after the difficulty I had with the two recordings of Siepi in Don Carlo and Ernani, I was unsettled in mind; uncertain, yes, even doubtful that I should offer to you the 1955 Keilberth, Gedda, Zadek - CAPRICCIO recording of La Clemenza di Tito by the Kolner Rundfunk Sinfonie Orchester, from the WDR (West German Radio)Saal.
That was my point in doubt.
With every good intention to a great blog, I am
Bob from Georgia, USA
